King’s was left scrambling for an opening-round football game Friday when Ingraham had to bow out, apparently due to a lack of eligible players.
But the Knights fell into a blockbuster instead.
They will play Lynden, the defending 2A state champion and the No. 1 team in The Seattle Times’ preseason rankings for Class 2A.
The Lions had been scheduled to play a team out of Canada, which apparently also had to cancel.
The game will be at 7 p.m. at King’s, which is ranked No. 1 in some Class 1A state polls.
