Some high-school volleyball highlights from Tuesday

The prep volleyball season is underway, and it should be an exciting one. I plan to blog highlights Tuesday through Friday, based on information reported to The Times the night before.

Coaches, please make sure you get us your results (206-464-2276 or Players and parents, if you aren’t seeing them on our website, please encourage your coach (or some designated with the duty) to report them. And also please try to have leaders for both teams.

Only three ranked teams were apparently in action, so we’ll start there:

Snohomish 3, Stanwood 1

As usual, high-flying Lanesha Reagan paced the Panthers, ranked No. 5 in 4A, with 25 kills. No other Snohomish highlights were reported. Stanwood got 13 kills from Natalie Sulantay with Marissa Hansen handing out 31 assists. Joeli Funderburke had a wicked 7 aces, while Krista Titus keyed the defense with 28 digs.

Puyallup 3, Stadium 0

Mackenzie March put up 30 asssists for the No. 7 Vikings and the kills were spread between Maddie Davis (9), Braylie Jeffers (8) and Rachel Strobl (8). Addi Picha had 4 blocks.

Glacier Peak 3, Marysville Getchell 0

The Grizzlies, ranked No. 8 in Class 3A, were sparked by Ruby Mensing (13 kills, 5 aces) and she got help from Maria Darling (6 kills), Maddi Ober (5 kills, 3 aces) and Caitlyn Johnson (5 kills, 4 aces). Reanna Jarchow ran the show, distributing 26 assists, while Hailey Nicholson dug up 11 balls.

Graham-Kapowsin 3, Kentridge 0

Kyla Obgurn put together 10 kills and 11 digs for G-K, which got 11 assists from Alex Cuilepia and 3 aces from Abby Kocks. KR was led by Kiera Brunson (14 kills), Carly Manning (12 assists) and Ariel Wolfe (10 digs).

Rogers 3, Roosevelt 0

Kelsea Meyers piled up 31 assists and Karlee Toreh headed a balanced offense with 10 kills. Colby Barnette added 8 kills and 3 blocks, Brylie Barnette had 8 kills and 10 digs and Whitney Riffle chipped in 6 kills and 3 blocks.

Beamer 3, West Seattle 1

Megan Huff pounded 13 kills and had 3 blockes and Tatiana Dixon added 11 kills for the Titans, who also got 27 assists and 3 aces from Sophie Miller. Eastyn Baleto led West Seattle with 12 kills and 9 digs. Maddie Collins handed out 22 assists, while Ellen Cleveland added 3 blocks and 6 aces.

Marsyville-Pilchuck 3, Arlington 1

Amy Massingale and Marley Reynolds sparked the offense with 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Courtney Fitzmaurice distributed 23 assists, while Shelby Delappe contributed 8 assists and 4 aces. For Arlington, Audrey Frolich provided 9 kills and 4 aces with Amanda Hayward logging 16 assists.

Kennedy Catholic 3, Highline 0

Apryl Eneliko (6 kills), Sydney Beach (5 kills) and Shayne McPherson (5 aces) had the notable stats as the Lancers spread things around.

Hazen 3, Evergreen 2

No Hazen highlights reported. Mailey Faletogo had a strong all-around performance for Evergreen with 10 kills, 3 blocks, 11 digs and 6 aces. Other notable efforts came from Sini Vili (11 assists), Cecilia Vu (8 assists), Pulemau Savusa (6 kills), Tiffany Mowatt (11 digs) and Stephanie Herrera (5 digs).

Lindbergh 3, Foster 0

No Lindbergh highlights reported. Enuica Serafica led Hazen with 7 kills, while Veronica Sun had 12 assists and Aba Monkah served up 4 aces.

Tahoma 3, Bonney Lake 1

Rachelle Fretz fired 14 kills, Anikka Burdulis put up 21 assists, Natalie Burdulis accounted for 11 digs and Megan Smith logged 7 assists to key the victory. Bonney Lake fell despite a solid performance by Astyn Bagby (26 assists, 13 digs, 4 aces) and 12 kills from Lisa Demick.

Kent-Meridian 3, Enumclaw 0

No K-M highlights reported. Hannah Morris had 12 assists for the Hornets with Missy Sanders getting 6 kills.

Monroe 3, Meadowdale 2

Lots of crooked numbers on both sides of the net. For Monroe, D.D. Latimore amassed 41 assists and Chloe Cory matched that with 41 digs. The kills were spread between Melina Seabrook (16), Emily Aikins (12) and Mia Adams (10). Meadowdale got key efforts from Carly Reece (24 kills, 22 digs), Tara Fishback (44 assists, 10 digs), Kayla Cummins (10 kills), Madison Norton (10 kills) and Amy Rickel (32 digs).

Mountlake Terrace 3, Mount Vernon 1

Justine Kelly and Casey Hynes collected 15 assists each and Hynes had 5 kills as well. Madison Eich led in that category with 11 kills.

Lake Stevens 3, Shorewood 1

Alexis Alverson (17 kills), Kendall Swanson (11 kills) and McKayla Huntley (7 kills, 3 blocks) led the way. For Shorewood, Delaney Hopen had 13 kills and 25 digs, while Ellie Rettenmier contributed 10 kills and 19 digs. Miranne Kellogg finished with 17 assists.

Peninsula 3, Olympic 1

Erin Horkan provided the spark with 10 kills and 7 aces.

Decatur 3, Mount Rainier 0

No details reported.

Steilacoom 3, Lincoln 1

No details reported.

Evergreen Lutheran 3, Shoreline Christian 1

Jessice Hoogerthyde handed out 28 assists in the victory with most going to Bella Harmesch (14 kills) and Kari Holly (13).

Tacoma Baptist 3, Orting 0

Natalie Snyder keyed the win with 14 kills, while Cathryn Carlson added 5 kills and 5 aces. Makenna Newfield finished with 17 assists.
