Maxpreps.com is reporting that junior Shaqquan Aaron, a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com, has transferred to Rainier Beach from California. Aaron, a 6-foot-8, 175-pound forward, already has an offer from UCLA, according to Rivals.
ESPN.com reports that Aaron has offers from UW, Syracuse, Connecticut and Arizona. ESPN.com’s scouting report on Aaron says, “Aaron has a frame and a budding skill-set that oozes potential.”
Aaron played at Mater Dei High in California as a freshman but transferred after that season to Taft. The MaxPreps report said Aaron never played a game for Taft and was home schooled for most of his sophomore year.
He could join a loaded Rainier Beach team, which won the 3A state championship last season. Rainier Beach returns Marquis Davis and Djuan Piper from that team.
