Some high-school volleyball highlights from Tuesday

Before I jump into the highlights from the local volleyball matches Tuesday, I thought I’d catch you up on some showdowns involving ranked teams out of our official coverage area.

In 4A, No. 6 Bellarmine beat No. 7 Gig Harbor, 3-1. In 2A, No. 2 Tumwater blanked No. 6 Capital, 3-0.

Over in the Tri-Cities, Kamiakin (No. 9 in 3A) held off Southridge, 3-2. Southridge was ranked No. 5 last week before losing to Kennewick. And Richland, No. 9 in 4A, beat a solid Chiawana team, 3-1.

Here are some highlights from the area prep volleyball matches reported to The Times Tuesday:

Mercer Island 3, Lake Washington 0

The Islanders, ranked No. 1 in 3A, were paced by Jemma Yeadon (12 kills), Sara Lindquist (10 kills, 5 aces), Brooke Behrbaum (7 kills, 3 blocks), Carly Wilson (23 assists, 3 aces), Kelley Logie (11 assists, 3 aces) and Lorial Yeadon (15 digs).

Mount Si 3, Juanita 0

Lindsay Carr piled up 21 assists for the No. 3 Wildcats, while Lauren Smith had 22 assists and 3 aces and Gen Knoppi chipped in 15 digs. Jade Finaue finished with 12 assists for Juanita.

Bellevue 3, Sammamish 0

Katy Hallberg notched 8 kills for Bellevue, the assists were shared by Lauren Patrick (14) and Natalie Phee (10) and Kelsey Burns led the defense with 11 digs.

Interlake 3, Liberty 0

The Saints got key contributions from Carolyn Fordyce (10 kills, 13 digs), Margo Parker (8 kills, 5 blocks), Danielle Niemann (6 kills, 3 aces), Julie Regalia (18 assists) and Kendall Davis (14 digs). For Liberty, Jessica Pickering paired 12 kills with 10 digs, Ashlan Applegate had 7 kills and 3 aces, Kaaren Wilson chipped in 17 assists and Krista Merca piled up 21 digs.

Jackson 3, Cascade 0

The Timberwolves, ranked No. 1 in 4A, remain unbeaten in Washington, but no highlights were reported.

Monroe 3, Snohomish 0

D.D. Latimore accounted for 20 assists and Melina Seabrook smashed 9 kills to lead the Bearcats. For Snohomish, Laneasha Reagan put together 16 kills and 12 digs with Kendle Valade-Nunez contributing 13 assists.

Lake Stevens 3, Arlington 0

The Vikings used a balanced offense led by Christiana James and Emily Vandergrift with 8 kills apiece. Arlington’s Audrey Frolich had a match-high 11 kills.

Kamiak 3, Mariner 0

Kennedy Catholic 3, Foster 0

The Lancer standouts were Riley Fawcett (9 kills), Shayne McPherson (5 kills, 13 assists, 7 aces) and Apryll Eneliko (5 kills, 5 aces).

Hazen 3, Renton 1

Auburn Mountainview 3, Peninsula 0

Molly Chichosz piled up 23 kills and added 3 aces and got help from Maya Williamson (9 kills), Delaney Ralph (9 kills) and Sam Odren (32 assists, 4 aces).

Enumclaw 3, Decatur 0

The Hornets were paced by Danielle Sattarelli (12 kills), Barbie Becker (14 assists) and Hannah Morris (4 aces).

Meadowdale 3, Mountlake Terrace 2

Down 2-1, the Mavs rallied and finished with three players in double-digits for kills — Carly Reece (13, plus 12 digs), Sloan Morrison (13) and Kayla Cummins (10). Amy Rickel keyed the defense with 24 digs. For the Hawks, the leaders were Madison Eich (12 kills), Casey Hynes (8 kills, 14 assists) and Justine Kelly (22 assists, 5 aces).

Shorewood 3, Shorecrest 0

Monica Poster was solid all around with 11 kills, 10 digs and 3 aces, while Marianne Kellogg handed out 24 assists. For Shorecrest, Bailey Rutter notched 17 assists and Chlarisse Haines checked in with 13 digs.

Stanwood 3, Everett 2

Oak Harbor 3, Marysville Getchell 0

King’s 3, South Whidbey 1

King’s is ranked No. 3 in the Coaches Association 1A poll, but no details were reported.

Archbishop Murphy 3, Lakewood 1

Sami Fantin led a balanced offense with 9 kills, Morgan Terhar added 7 and Rachel Gordan added 4 aces to her 5 kills. Abby Jamieson directed it all with 20 assists and Madeline Johnson was a force on defense with 23 digs.

Sultan 3, Granite Falls 1

Annie Wright 3, Northwest School 0

It was an ace-fest with four Annie Wright players serving up 3 or more, led by Tori Smith (9, plus 5 kills), Lexi LeClech (6, plus 5 kills), Maria Vipond (5, plus 10 assists) and Margaux Arnston (3, plus 6 kills).

Bellevue Christian 3, Eatonville 0

Katie Hoffman (23 assists, 5 kills) and Sammi Hattate (7 kills) keyed the victory.

Bear Creek 3, Chief Leschi 0

Makenna Schoene delivered 10 kills and 5 aces, while Michelle Brown had 20 assists and 7 aces to lead Bear Creek, ranked No. 3 in the Coaches Assocation 2B poll.

Seattle Lutheran 3, Tacoma Baptist 0

Brianne Phillips keyed a balanced offense with 29 assists and serving was a plus as three players served up 4 aces — Hailey Meyer (plus 10 kills), Olivia Wake (plus 8 kills) and Madison Jones (plus 5 kills). For Tacoma Baptist, the leaders were Natalie Snyder (10 kills), Makenna Newfeld (13 assists) and Cathryn Carlson (3 aces).

Lopez 3, Providence Christian 0

McKenzie Johnson helped the Lopez cause with 4 aces.

Mount Rainier Lutheran 3, Christian Faith 2

It’s the second loss of he week for Christian Faith, ranked No. 3 in the Coaches Association 1B poll, but no details were reported.

Cedarcrest 3, Coupeville 0
