Bellevue holds at second in ESPN poll, jumps to second in SI poll

As Bellevue rolls along in the playoffs — the Wolverines beat Ferndale 28-0 to advance to the quarterfinals against Peninsula on Friday — the school’s status as the second-best team in the country looks more secure.

Bellevue held at second in the ESPN top 25 and moved into second in Sports Illustrated’s national poll.

The Wolverines are 11-0 this season haven’t been truly tested since a Week 1 overtime win against Trinity from Euless, Texas. In fact, Bellevue’s 28-point win against Ferndale was the team’s smallest margin of victory since a 35-7 win against Bothell in Week 2, when the Wolverins scored all 35 points in the first half before letting off the gas.
