Katie Collier will have her No. 3 basketball jersey retired by Seattle Christian this Friday as part of the school’s Homecoming festivities.
The ceremony will take place at 6:40 p.m. between the varsity girls and varsity boys games.
Collier became the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer as a senior last season, despite undergoing treatment for leukemia. She was The Seattle Times female Player of the Year and named to the prestigious McDonald’s All-America team.
I wrote this story when she was selected our Player of the Year.
Prior to the 2011-12 season, Mason Kelley wrote a more elaborate feature on her brave battle, which you can find here.
Collier signed with Washington, but has been forced to sit out her true freshman season after suffering a knee injury over the summer.
