Lake Stevens 52, Kentwood 36

Senior Brooke Pahukoa piled up 34 points and eight rebounds as the Vikings (20-7) reached the state semifinals for the first time in school history with a dominating victory over the Conquerors (19-7). Pahukoa supplied 22 points as the Vikings built a 34-18 halftime lead.

Lake Stevens moved on to face WesCo 4A North Division state semifinal on Friday at 7:15 p.m. It will be the third meeting of the season between the two divisional rivals.

Arlington won the first meeting 77-51 on Dec. 8 at home and then Lake Stevens came back for a 55-41 triumph on its home floor on Jan. 25.

Kentwood, led by Sarah Toeaina’s 16 points, faces Gonzaga Prep (22-4) in a loser-out consolation game on Friday at 12:15 p.m. Jenny Johnson led the Conks with 10 rebounds.

Pahukoa, who is headed to Boise State with her twin sister Brittney, hit 13 of 24 field goals and 7 of 8 free throws in almost 30 minutes of action.
