The fourth-ranked Panthers buried six free throws in the final 1:56 — including four by Mary Ann Santucci — to hold off the No. 6 Braves.
Santucci finished with 14 points, while Michaela Carew led all scorers with 16. Santucci also held Kamiakin star Courtney Nelson scoreless for the final 11 minutes. Nelson wound up with 15 points and it was her back-to-back three-pointers that capped a 12-2 run early in the second quarter, giving the Braves a 33-28 lead.
But the Panthers stormed back. It was 35-30 when they ran off eight unanswered points, four of them coming from Carew.
Kamiakin went the final 1:36 without scoring. Santucci’s two free throws with 20.2 to play stretched Prep’s lead to 44-39. Nelson missed at the other end and Quinn Glosniak snared the rebound. She then buried two free throws with eight seconds on the clock to seal the win.
