The unranked Islanders hung with one of the tourney favorites early on — the game was tied at 17 early in the second quarter — but ultimately couldn’t keep up.
Still, it was just 30-24 with less than two minutes to go. Then Justina Laney buried a long three-pointer (she could have made it a four-point play, but she missed the accompanying free throw) and the Rams wound up scoring the final six points of the quarter.
The Islanders were still in touch at 40-31 with 4:19 left in the game, but scored just five points the rest of the way and three those came on a last-second basket by Jamie Mounger.
Wilson, which made only two-of-10 free throws in the final 1:45 and 15-of-31 for the game, will play Seattle Prep in the semifinals Friday at 3:45 p.m.
Bethany Montgomery and Tia Briggs each finished with 11 for the Rams. MI’s Kris Brackmann led all scorers with 12. The Islanders shot just 25.9 percent from the field.
