Girls: Kamiakin 47, University 36

Junior guard Sira Toure capped an outstanding tournament with 21 points as the seventh-ranked Braves from Kennewick secured the fourth-place trophy.

It was redemption for a team that went 0-2 at the Tacoma Dome last year after coming in unbeaten.

Sophomore Holly Ellison added 14 points and three steals, while senior Courtney Nelson put together 10 points, six rebounds and three steals in her final prep game.

University of Spokane Valley, which finishes sixth, was led by freshman Brooke Bailey with 11 points. Senior Kayleigh Valley managed just eight points, but had a monster game on the boards with 17 and added four steals.

Kamiakin (20-6), which beat University by 10 two weeks earlier in a district game, led just 13-10 after one quarter, then opened the second with a 10-2 run. Bailey’s long three-pointer at the buzzer cut it to 23-15 at the half. But the Titans (15-12) got no closer the rest of the way.
