Monroe names Tyson Horner head boys basketball coach

Former assistant Tyson Horner has been named new head boys basketball coach at Monroe High School.

Horner was an assistant coach for five seasons under both Nick Wold and Brett Wille, who is now athletic director. Wille called Horner “the perfect fit” to take over the program.

“Tyson’s immersed in the community, he’s well respected by the kids here at Monroe, he’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever worked with, and he is extremely passionate about basketball,” Wille wrote in an e-mail. “He was an outstanding assistant for both myself and Nick Wold and he’ll continue the tradition of excellence, both on and off the court, that has become the expectation for Monroe Boys Basketball.”
