ECKC live thread – Skyline vs. Bellevue

This will serve as your live game thread from the Emerald City Kickoff Classic at Husky Stadium. The final game of the night – Skyline vs. Bellevue.

The 2012 4A state champions take on the 2012 3A state champions. Both are KingCo teams.

Final – Bellevue 45, Skyline 7

TD – Bellevue 45, Skyline 7

Kilton Anderson runs it into the endzone for a touchdown. Jason Twaddle with the extra point.

Skyline player Chandler Wong appeared to be injured, but was able to get to the sideline eventually.

TD – Bellevue 45, Skyline 0

Bellevue’s Cristoph Hirota with a 15-yard rushing touchdown. Gibson with the extra point.

Michael Cowin returns the ball 37 yards to set up decent field position for Skyline.

FG – Bellevue 38, Skyline 0

Cody Gibson’s 29-yard field goal attempt is good.

Start of second half.

Halftime – Bellevue 35, Skyline 0

Justus Rogers in at quarterback for Bellevue.

Miles Carlson makes a 12-yard reception from Timmy Haehl for Bellevue.

Skyline fumbles the ball after Brandon Kelly tackles the runner. Isaiah Gilchrist recovers the ball, and Bellevue takes over.

Kilton Anderson carries the ball for 10 yards and a first down.

Cole Blackburn returns the kick 28 yards. Skyline takes over at their own 43.

TD – Bellevue 35, Skyline 0

Max Richmond rushes for a 3-yard touchdown. Bellevue is running up the score on Skyline. Gibson’s extra point is good.

Bad snaps forces Skyline kicker to get the ball off, and lucky for Skyline, it takes a few bounces in their favor. But not much. Bellevue takes over at their own 46.

Skyline’s run game – especially letting their quarterback run – doesn’t seem to be working for them against this Bellevue defense.

TD – Bellevue 28, Skyline 0

And Baker’s off…Budda Baker runs 47 yards for a Bellevue touchdown. No one can touch him as he sprints toward the endzone. Gibson’s extra point is good.

Good return by Skyline backup quarterback Michael Cowin. Skyline takes over at their own 35.

TD – Bellevue 21, Skyline 0

66-yard rushing touchdown for Bellevue as Marek Spooner-Leduff breaks several tackles to go all the way. Gibson’s extra point good.

End of first quarter – Bellevue 14, Skyline 0

Skyline takes over at their own 23-yard line.

TD – Bellevue 14, Skyline 0

Bellevue’s Sam Richmond runs 65 yards into the endzone. Cody Gibson’s extra point is good.

Timmy Haehl showing he has a good arm. Didn’t complete the long pass down the field, but still – he has the distance.

Budda Baker looking strong. Saw him as a running back and on defense, and we just saw him have a solid punt return.

Looks like a pretty good turnout here at Husky Stadium. Both teams have a big group of fans in the stands.

Anderson hits Collin Crisp for 12-yard reception.

Anderson hits Cole Blackburn for a 10-yard reception.

Kilton Anderson keeps the ball for a gain of 5. Skyline offense running the quarterback keep quite a bit to start.

Cole Blackburn can’t hang on to the ball after the punt, and he has to pick it up before he can start running. Skyline takes over at their own 5-yard line.

TD – Bellevue 7, Skyline 0

Bellevue goes for it on 4th and 1, and Budda Baker takes it 12 yards into the endzone for a touchdown. Cody Gibson kicks the extra point, and it’s good.

Budda Baker rushes for 6 yards. On his next carry, he loses a yard. Baker gets another carry, and he goes 4 yards, bringing up 4th and 1.

Anderson tries to run, but gets tackled by multiple Bellevue defenders and loses the ball in the pile. Bellevue’s Budda Baker comes up with the ball, and Bellevue takes over at Skyline’s 21-yard line.

Skyline’s Blackburn signals for a fair catch, and Skyline will take over at thier own 22.

Haehl tries to keep the ball again, but the Skyline defense has his number. Gain of 1.

Bellevue quarterback Timmy Haehl takes off and runs for 13 yards.

In Anderson’s first plays as a Spartan, there’s a run for no gain, he’s tackled for a loss of three and his pass is incomplete. Skyline forced to punt on 4th and 8. Bellevue takes over at their own 33.

Anderson’s pass is swatted down by Isaiah Gilchrist.

Anderson loses three yards when he’s taken down by Bellevue lineman Marcus Griffin.
