CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week: Week 3

The Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink, Inc. and Q13 FOX announced the Week 3 High School Athlete of the Week today.

The award went to Curtis High School junior David James.

Here’s what was said about him in the press release:

David, a junior at Curtis, was selected Athlete of the Week based on his dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership and athletic performance. David holds a 3.9 GPA while taking multiple AP college level classes. As a sophomore last year, he lettered in both Cross Country and Track and Field, qualifying for State Championships in cross country. He was also chosen as the captain of the Varsity Track & Field team and is a group leader at his church. He is a leader of the Curtis High Jazz Band and was picked by his teachers as the high school Drum Major.

As the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week, David will also be recognized at his school in front of his family, peers and teachers. He will also receive a $1,000 grant from CenturyLink and the Seahawks for his school’s Associated Student Bodies (ASB) fund, in addition to media recognition, tickets and sideline passes to a Seahawks game, and a customized 2013 Seahawks jersey.
