Friday night highlights

It’s that time of week again. Time to take a look at how football teams around the area competed under the Friday night lights.

Highlights from Mount Si’s 23-14 win over Juanita:

-Mount Si quarterback Nick Mitchell went 15-25 for 199 yards and two passing touchdowns – a 23-yard pass to wide receiver Trevor Daniels and a 25-yard pass to tight end Beau Shain. Mitchell was sacked twice and didn’t throw an interception. He did, however, intercept Juanita quarterback Tavin Montgomery’s pass in the endzone in the fourth quarter. Mitchell also rushed for 45 yards on five carries.

-Bailey Takacs ripped the ball out of Juanita’s Pierce Belleman’s hands in the first quarter. This would set the tone for an aggressive game.

-Running back Austin Cole scored Juanita’s only touchdowns on a 1.5-yard rush and a 46-yard rush. He only carried the ball four times.

More highlights:

-Rashaad Boddie of Skyline rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns in just the first half of Skyline’s 21-6 win over Eastlake.

-Marysville-Pilchuck’s Austin Joyner ran for 181 yards on just 11 carries in their 48-17 win over Snohomish.

-King’s proved they might just be the team to beat in the Cascade Conference with a 63-14 win over Archbishop Murphy.

- Franklin running back James Flowers III had 17 carries for 176 yards including a 57-yard touchdown in Franklin’s 27-12 loss to West Seattle.

-Kaleb Seymar (Marysville Getchell): 251 all-purpose yards – (2 interceptions: one for 90-yard TD return and another 42-yard return, one 52-yard TD fumble return, 2 receptions for 67 yards)
