What we know – KingCo (4A/3A) and Metro (3A) playoffs

It’s that time of year again – time to take a look at how conferences around the area are handling playoffs for Districts.

Here’s what we know so far with KingCo (4A/3A) and Metro (3A) –

KingCo 4A gets five playoff berths this season.

Here’s a look at how the Crest and Crown Divisions will play their crossover games to determine those spots:

-No. 1s play (with an automatic playoff berth) to determine the KingCo champion [2 spots]: Bothell (Crest 4-0) vs. Skyline (Crown 5-0). Friday, 7 p.m. at Skyline HS.

-No. 2 in Crest plays No. 4 in Crown in a loser-out game [1 spot]: Eastlake (3-1) vs. Roosevelt (2-3). Friday, 7 p.m. at Eastlake HS.

-No. 2 in Crown plays No. 4 in Crest in a loser-out game [1 spot]: Issaquah (4-1) vs. Redmond (1-3). Friday, 7 p.m. at Redmond HS.

-No. 3s play in a loser-out game [1 spot]: Woodinville (Crest 2-2) vs. Newport (Crown 3-2). Friday 7 p.m. at Pop Keeney Stadium.

The winner of the Bothell-Skyline game will be the No. 1 seed. The loser of that game will be the No. 2 seed. All other games, with the winners advancing to Quad-District, will have seeds TBD.

KingCo 3A gets three playoff berths.

There are multiple games this Friday, Nov. 1 that will help determine those spots.

-Bellevue (6-0) has already clinched a playoff berth.

-Mount Si (5-1) has also clinched a spot.

-That leaves Mercer Island (4-2), Liberty (3-3) and Juanita (3-3) in the hunt for the last playoff spot.

This season, Mercer Island beat Juanita, but lost to Liberty. Next up: Friday, 7 p.m. at Bellevue HS.

This season, Liberty beat Mercer Island, but lost to Juanita. Next up: Friday, 7 p.m. at Mount Si HS.

This season, Juanita beat Liberty, but lost to Mercer Island. Next up: Friday, 7 p.m. vs. Interlake, at Juanita HS.

If Mercer Island, Liberty and Juanita all end up with a 4-3 conference record, the last spot will be determined by a three-way, mini-playoff next Tuesday. To do that, this scenario would have to play out Friday: Liberty beats Mount Si, Bellevue beats Mercer Island and Juanita beats Interlake

If just two of the three end up tied, the winner of their regular season game will take the last spot.

If Mount Si beats Liberty Friday Night, Mercer Island will be the KingCo No. 3.

Metro 3A gets seven playoff berths.

Here’s a look at how Mountain and Sound Divisions will play their crossover games to determine those spots:

-No. 1s play for No. 1 and No. 2 seeds [2 spots]: O’Dea (Mountain 4-0) vs. Nathan Hale (Sound 6-0). Friday, 7:45 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

-No. 2s play for No. 3 and No. 4 seeds [2 spots]: Eastside Catholic (Mountain 4-1) vs. Cleveland (Sound 5-1). Friday, 5 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

-No. 3s play for No. 5 and No. 6 seeds [2 spots]: Bishop Blanchet (Mountain 3-2) vs. Chief Sealth (Sound 4-3). Saturday, 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

-No. 4s play for No. 7 seed [1 spot]: Seattle Prep (Mountain 2-3) vs. Rainier Beach (Sound 2-4). Thursday, 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
