ShoWare Center hosts basketball tournament Saturday

Are you looking for a game or two to watch on Saturday? Perhaps you were trapped inside on Friday due to the snowy conditions and weren’t able to get out for a game. Don’t worry, you can get your basketball fix at the ShoWare Center in Kent with a full slate of games scheduled.

The annual ShoWare Shootout Presented by Re/Max Extra tips off at 9:00 a.m. A total of six boys games and two girls games are on the schedule – and many of the teams are ranked in The Seattle Times Top 10 polls for boys and girls.

The Jackson and Auburn Mountainview girls kickoff off the day with a game at 9:00 a.m. The other girls game on the schedule features Class 2A top-ranked Mark Morris again No. 4 White River.

On the boys side, several of the games feature ranked teams including 2A No. 2 Sumner against Lynden at 3:30 p.m. 3A No. 7 Stanwood will face off against Jefferson, while Wilson and Bellarmine Prep play as well.

The other games include White River taking on Peninsula at 10:30 a.m., Cedar Park Christian boys facing Lynden Christian at 2:00 p.m. and Auburn Mountainview squaring off with Kentwood at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 at the door at the ShoWare Center and are $5 for seniors and students with ASB cards.
