Rainier Beach, Jackson, Garfield, Newport win titles

I want to quickly hit on a couple things before I take off from Bothell High School.

- Rainier Beach dominated Bishop Gorman (Nev.) 95-67 to win the Les Schwab Invitational. Shaqquan Aaron was the tournament MVP. The tournament performance by the Vikings is one that will surely catch the attention of national pundits and they should vault into the top of the rankings.

- Jackson became the first non-California team to win the MaxPreps Holiday Classic, beating Capital Christian 54-45. Very impressive tournament win for the Timberwolves.

- Garfield beat Valley (Nev.) in the Las Vegas Prep Championship, 78-70, to take the tournament title. Tramaine Isabell was the tournament MVP. Who doesn’t want to see a Garfield-Jackson matchup?

- Newport won the Cactus Jam with a 70-66 overtime win over Hoover (Ohio). Jake Higgins had 25 points and Will Ferris added 18.
