Rainier Beach to honor 1988 team

Rainier Beach will honor the 1988 state championship team during Friday’s game against Bainbridge. The 1988 team won the first state title for boys basketball in program history. The Vikings have now won seven state championships.

“They got something put together to pay homage and to show respect for the ones that paved the way back in ’88,” assistant Dave King said.

Former players will be recognized in the ceremony.
