Rainier Beach stays put in rankings

Rainier Beach didn’t move in the national rankings after a pair of wins last week. The Vikings remain at No. 2 in the rankings by MaxPreps, No. 3 by Student Sports FAB 50 and No. 4 by USA Today.

Whitney Young (Ill.) could have helped Rainier Beach move into the top spot of the MaxPreps rankings by beating No. 1 Mater Dei on Saturday, but fell short in a 69-57 defeat. The Vikings beat Whitney Young in the Les Schwab Invitational earlier this season.

This is what MaxPreps had to say about Rainier Beach:

“The Vikings are one win away from an unbeaten regular season after pounding Bainbridge (Bainbridge Island) 96-35 over the weekend. Beach faces rival Franklin (Seattle) on Friday.”
