WIAA announces regional basketball draws

The WIAA has announced the regional basketball draws and the site selection process for the 2014 boys and girls tournaments.

The draws have already been determined, but the sites will not be determined until Sunday, February 23, the day after the district tournaments conclude. WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese and WIAA staff members Cindy Adsit, Andy Barnes, John Miller and Brian Smith WOA Executive Director Todd Stordahl and recently retired basketball coach, Jason Kerr.

The WIAA’s top priority is that teams do not play on their home court. Sites will host no more than a maximum of two games on Friday, February 28 and six contests on Saturday, March 1. If a school has both a girls and boys team in the regional round, the teams will play back-to-back games.

You can find the complete criteria for site selection and the regional draws for each classification on the WIAA website.
