No movement in national rankings for Rainier Beach

Another week and still no movement for Rainier Beach in the national rankings, as teams ahead of the Vikings also continue to take care of business.

That means that Rainier Beach is still No. 2 in the MaxPreps rankings, No. 3 by FAB 50 and No. 4 by USA Today. Here’s what MaxPreps said about the Vikings.

“The Vikings were tested Saturday night in the Metro League tournament title game, escaping with a 68-65 win over Eastside Catholic (Sammamish). It was just the second time this season that Rainier Beach was held to less than 70 points.”

If Rainier Beach continues to win, there could be opportunities for it to move up in the rankings. Mater Dei, the No. 1 team in the MaxPreps rankings, has a tough playoff schedule. Curie, the No. 1 team by FAB 50, will most likely end up facing No. 8 Whitney Young in the playoffs.
