Prep Athletes of the Year — who should we choose?

Now that all of the high-school state championships are in the books, it’s time for The Seattle Times’ last significant prep project for the 2013-14 school year — choosing our male and female Athletes of the Year within our coverage area (basically King and Snohomish counties, plus Bainbridge).

The biggest criteria is that the athlete must have competed in at least two high-school sports this school year.

We have some great candidates in mind already, and the choices area always tough (we also will honor six other boys and six other girls “you should have seen”). But we’d like your input — especially from coaches and athletic directors.

To nominate girls, please send detailed information to me at sringer@seattletimes.com. Send boys candidates to Josh Liebeskind (jliebeskind@seattletimes.com). Please include as many details as possible, including all-league awards, information on the athlete’s prep career (such as lettering in 10 sports, etc.) and college plans.

We will be making our choices early next weeks, so we hope to hear from you by Friday. Thanks in advance for your assistance!
