2014 WIAA Emerald City Kickoff Classic match-ups finalized

The annual WIAA Emerald City Kickoff Classic, being held at the Seattle Memorial Stadium on Sept. 6, will feature seven in-state schools including Roosevelt of Seattle. 

Games start at 10 a.m. and tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Children under 5 are free.

The schedule:
Bridgeport vs. Darrington, 10 a.m.
Mt. Spokane vs. West Valley (Yakima), 1 p.m.
Emerald Ridge vs. Prosser, 4 p.m.
Roosevelt vs. Benson (Oregon), 7 p.m.

Notes: Bridgeport is making its first appearance in the classic. Darrington made it to the Class 2B state playoffs last year. Spokane finished 8-3 last year and qualified for the  3A state playoffs. West Valley (Yakima) went 8-2 last season. Emerald Ridge ended last year on a four game win streak. Prosser has qualified for the state semifinals the last three seasons. Roosevelt was a state quarter finalist in 2012. Benson won one game in the Portland Interscholastic League last year.
