Bothell, Bellevue top AP preseason football polls

The Associated Press has released the preseason prep football rankings, based on votes by a panel of sports reporters from across the state.

Bothell is No. 1 in 4A, drawing six of the 11 first-place votes (No. 3 Skyline and No. 4 Federal Way each received one). Graham-Kapowsin sits at No. 8 and Lake Stevens is No. 10.

Bellevue swept all 11 first-place votes in 3A and is followed by three other local teams — O’Dea, Eastside Catholic and Marysville-Pilchuck. Lakes is No. 6, Peninsula No. 9 and Glacier Peak No. 10.

In 2A, 12 reporters participated and all picked Lynden at No. 1. Lindbergh of Renton is tied for No. 7 with Othello and Liberty of Issaquah has the No. 10 spot.

King’s is No. 8 in 1A, where Freemand and Cascade Christian rank 1-2.
