Emerald Ridge moves up to No. 38 in national volleyball poll

PrepVolleyball.com has released it’s first in-season rankings of the season.

Emerald Ridge of Puyallup, which was at No. 47 in the preseason poll, has climbed to No. 38.

And Bellarmine Prep of Tacoma, the two-time defending 4A state champion, is up one spot at No. 76.

Both teams are playing in the Kent Classic Saturday, and I’ll be at Kentlake to cover the tournament (some matches are played at Kentwood).

You can find the rankings on the PrepVolleyball.com main page. It’s a pay site, but offers a lot for high-school volleyball fans.

The top-100 seniors in the country can also be found there, under Senior Aces. There are no Washington players on the list. I check with John Tawa, the company’s founder and editor, to see who he considered our state’s top senior and he named ER’s Jenna Mullen, who apparently just missed the list.
