Eastlake coach Don Bartel was named a High School Coach of the Week, as announced by the Seahawks. You can read the complete release here.
Eastlake (2-1) beat then-No. 8 Gig Harbor 24-21 in a thrilling game last week. The Wolves, which are dealing with an injury at quarterback, host Issaquah on Friday.
North Kitsap coach Jeff Weible is the other winner of the weekly award.
From the website: “The NFL High School Coach of the Week award winners in Washington State are selected by members of the Washington State Football Coaches Association. The weekly recipients will receive a $500 cash donation for their football program from the Seattle Seahawks, a $225 Sports Authority gift card, authentic Seahawks jacket, and personalized football. Following the season, one coach will receive the Jim Ennis Award for High School Coach of the Year. The 2014 NFL High School Coach of the Year for Washington State will receive a $2,000 cash grant.”
