WIAA Athletes of the Week

This week’s WIAA Athlete of the Week winners.

NAME, YEAR, SCHOOL SPORT DESCRIPTION
Austin Urlacher (SR)
Chiawana HS – 4A
Football Urlacher ran for 195 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns against Richland, in the 41-0 victory.
Samantha Heilman (JR)
Richland HS – 4A
Soccer Heilman scored all four goals on 9/16 in the 4-3 win over Hanford. Then later in the week against Kennewick and Pasco, she totaled four goals and three assists to help seal the victories.
Jaiave Magalei (JR)
Lakes HS – 3A
Football Magalei led the Lancers attack with seven touchdowns, in the 67-7 rout of Auburn Riverside. He was 12 of 14 passing and finished with 248 yards.
Heidi Smith (SO)
Glacier Peak HS – 3A
Cross Country Smith placed first in a league meet against Monroe, Shorecrest, Marysville-Getchel, and Everett, with a 5K time of 19:22. Then two days later at the Iolani Invitational in Hawaii, she claimed first against with a three mile time of 17:40.
Brayton Leach (SR)
Ellensburg HS – 2A
Football Leach made seven catches for 143 yards and scored touchdowns of 21, 48, and six yards. He added a punt return for a touchdown to cap a fantastic night against Toppenish in the 53-0 win.
Shyanne Chandler (SR)
Ridgefield HS – 2A
Volleyball Chandler racked up 34 digs and four aces for the Spudders, in victories last week over Woodland and R A Long.
Colton Vining (SR)
Colville HS – 1A
Football Vining scored five times on eight carries for 169 yards in the first half against Medical Lake, on 9/19. He also added three receptions for 28 yards and had an interception on defense.
Whitney Isbell (SR)
Bear Creek HS – 1A
Soccer Isbell netted two goals against Seattle Academy and four goals in the win over The Northwest School last week.
Taylor Hicks (JR)
Toledo HS – 2B
Football Hicks led the Indians’ ground game with 98 yards and four touchdowns, in the 46-20 Central 2B victory over Winlock.
Mary Davis (JR)
Ocosta HS – 2B
Soccer Davis connected for all three goals as the Wildcats defeated Winlock, 3-1. She also added an assist in their game against Adna.
Jeremiah Lee (SR)
Grace Academy HS – 1B
Soccer Lee had 10 goals and four assists in three league victories last week for the Eagles. In the game against Shoreline Christian, he recorded five goals and two assists.
Toni Stout (SR)
Three Rivers Christian HS – 1B
Volleyball Stout helped sweep Naselle last week 25-18, 25-22, 25-17, with her performance of nine aces and eight assists.
