Bellevue senior swimmer Kim Williams has made her collegiate choice, and it is Stanford. Williams chose the Cardinal over USC and Arizona, the other two schools she visited in the last few weeks.
“Stanford, Class of 2019,” Williams said in a text.
The five-time 3A individual state titlist made her decision a week to the day after she found out some other big news. Williams will compete again for the U.S. at the end of the month in a World Cup competition. That commitment will not derail her goals for the high school season, however. One of five Wolverines team captains, Williams has said she can’t wait to see how many of her teammates get to the state meet on Nov. 14 and 15 at King County Aquatic Center.
Being a World Cup participant will cost Williams only the chance to swim at the Kingco Championships. She will be back in the state in time for the district meet, which she has to swim at in order to swim at state.
