Bellevue offensive lineman Henry Roberts will be selected to the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl next Wednesday in a special ceremony at the high school.
Roberts will be one of 90 players from around the nation to be selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which is one of the premier showcases for high school seniors. The group said, “Players are chosen not only because they excel on the football field, but because they possess the strengths similar to our Army Soldiers of mental, emotional and physical toughness.”
Roberts committed to Washington on Sept. 3. The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder is the highest-ranked offensive lineman in the state and listed at No. 25 nationally at the position by Scout.com. A four-star recruit, Roberts also held offers from a handful of Pac-12 schools, including Stanford, USC and UCLA, as well as Michigan and Wisconsin.
The ceremony will take place at Bellevue High School at 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 15, when Roberts will receive an honorary jersey. The game takes place on Jan. 3, 2015 at the Alamodome in San Antonio and will be live on NBC at 10 a.m. It drew 40,017 fans last season.
