Chico McClatcher among WIAA Athletes of the Week

Federal Way’s Chico McClatcher was named one of the WIAA’s Athlete of the Week after rushing for an SPSL 4A record 397 yards in a 70-24 win over Decatur last Friday. McClatcher gained the 397 yards on just 19 carries.

No. 7 Federal Way travels to No. 8 Kentwood tonight in a SPSL 4A crossover game.

Federal Way HS – 4A
Football McClatcher set an SPSL 4A single-game rushing record on 10/3, scampering for 397 yards, on 19 carries, in a 70-24 victory over Decatur. He also scored five touchdowns on the night.

Jessica Wierzbicki (SO)
Wenatchee HS – 4A
Swim & Dive Wierzbicki posted winning scores in both the 200 IM (2:12.19) and 100 fly (57.43) for the Panthers last week, which are the fastest times in 4A this season. Her fly time broke a 20 year old school record.

Jordan Kitna (JR)
Lincoln HS – 3A
Football Kitna tossed seven touchdowns, accounting for 197 yards passing and the win against Mount Tahoma. He added a rushing score for the Abes, as they won 91-0.

Makenna Behrens (JR)
Southridge HS – 3A
Volleyball Behrens established her libero position for the Suns, by tallying 37 digs in a five-set victory over Pasco on 9/30.

Alex Bing (FR)
Franklin-Pierce HS – 2A
Football Bing accounted for 166 yards of total offense and three touchdowns, in a 32-14 win over Orting on 10/3. He rushed for 154 yards on 14 carries for the Cardinals.

Emily Hodges (JR)
Granite Falls HS – 2A
Volleyball Hodges racked up 10 kills, nine digs, and was 19 for 19 serving, as the Tigers narrowly defeated Cedarcrest, 3-2.

Kaden Jenks (SO)
Royal HS – 1A
Football Jenks completed 12 of 17 passes for 231 yards and posted five touchdowns, as the Knights beat Wahluke last week, 47-0.

Savannah Egbert (SR)
Connell HS – 1A
Volleyball Egbert helped lead her team to 2-0 last week at the Quincy Tournament. She totaled 33 kills, five blocks, and was 35 of 36 from the service-line on the day.

Colton Magers (SR)
Wilbur-Creston HS – 2B
Football Magers hauled in six receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns, including a 75 yarder on the game’s opening play against Reardan. Defensively, he had 10 solo tackles, three for loss, and three assists.

Alexis Nickel (SR)
Soap Lake HS – 2B
Volleyball Nickel was instrumental in the backcourt last week for the Eagles by collecting 42 digs, six kills, and six aces.

Carter Dahmen (JR)
Colton HS – 1B
Football Dahmen completed 28 of 44 passes for 372 yards and seven touchdowns against St. John/Endicott. He connected with five different receivers on the night. Dahmen also ran for 81 yards and a touchdown, giving him over 450 all-purpose yards for the game and eight touchdowns.

Desere’e Doty (SR)
Crosspoint Academy HS – 1B
Soccer & Volleyball Doty had an outstanding week as a two-sport athlete for the Warriors. She led her soccer team to two wins, scoring hat-tricks in both games and had six assists on the week. On the volleyball court, Doty contributed with six kills, five aces, and four blocks.
