Class 4A, 3A and 2A state volleyball rankings — Week 6

No teams out, no teams in — that hardly ever happens in the Class 4A, 3A and 2A state volleyball rankings.

And it’s even more rare to see no changes in more than once classification.

But that’s the case this week, with only some minor shuffling in Class 2A. So let’s start there, where Selah swaps places with Burlington-Edison after winning the Wenatchee Invitational, edging up to No. 4. B-E needed five sets to get past Bellingham and lost to Lynden Christian, on of the top 1A teams in the state.

Woodland falls from No. 7 to No. 10 after losing for the second time to Ridgefield, which goes from 10th to ninth. Lynden and Fife each inch up a spot.

In 4A, West Valley of Yakima holds strong at No. 3 after blanking Eisenhower (formerly a top-10 team). Curtis stays at No. 8 after a 3-0 loss to No. 1 Emerald Ridge (no shame there). No. 9 Mount Si was pushed to five sets twice, but won. Snohomish continues to make a strong push for a top-10 spot.

Among the 3A ranked teams, there were losses by No. 7 Kaimaikin (to Pasco, unranked but the top 4A team in the MCC) and No. 9 Lakeside (to No. 5 Holy Names), so I’m not making any changes.

The tournament of note this Saturday is the Capital City Invitational, where you’ll find Emerald Ridge, Capital (3A No. 3), Sehome (2A No.), B-E and Lynden, to mention a few.
