WIAA Athlete of the Week winners

Many athletes from our area were named as WIAA Athlete of the Week winners, check them out.

Zach Zimmerman (SO)
Monroe HS – 4A
Football Zimmerman completed 15 passes on 24 attempts for 371 yards, and five touchdowns to lead the Bearcats to a 42-0 win.

Drew Locknane (JR)
Jackson HS – 4A
Soccer Locknane scored four goals and had an assist, to lead the Timber Wolves in a shutout victory over Cascade.

Austin Joyner (SR)
Marysville-Pilchuck HS – 3A
Football Joyner rushed 15 times for 163 yards and scored five touchdowns, as the Tomahawks downed Arlington 54-27 to clinch a playoff spot.

Robin Hood (SR)
Auburn-Riverside HS – 3A
Soccer Hood helped lead her team to three victories over Stadium, Peninsula, and Auburn last week. She netted two goals and dishing out four assists.

Jordan Baird (SO)
Tumwater HS – 2A
Golf Baird won the league championship individual title by shooting a 76 four-over par, which was a season low for him and was five strokes better than the second place finisher.

McKenna Palmer (SR)
Archbishop Murphy HS – 2A
Volleyball Palmer recorded 50 assists to help defeat Granite Falls 3-1, in last week’s Cascade Conference matchup.

David Postma (JR)
Bellevue Christian HS – 1A
Football Postma accounted for three touchdowns, running for 114 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown and throwing for two other scores for the Vikings. He also had eight tackles and a fumble recovery on defense in the 37-12 victory over Vashon Island.

Caryn Ausenhus (SR)
Bellevue Christian HS – 1A
Soccer Ausenhus notched two goals and two assists, in a Viking win and a draw last week.

Orlando Alba (SR)
Oroville HS – 2B
Football Alba logged 263 receiving yards, 134 rushing yards, 65 special-teams yards, and one interception in the Cougars’ victory, on 10/17. He totaled 36 points himself, with five touchdowns and six point-after-touchdowns.

Cole Butaud (SR)
Providence Classical Christian HS – 1B
Soccer Butaud put three goals in the back of the net, and assisted another, as the Highlanders beat Friday Harbor, 5-1.

Tess Baldwin (FR)
Crosspoint Academy HS – 1B
Soccer Baldwin provided stellar defensive performances last week over 1A and 2A schools, in which her team prevailed in victories, only giving up one goal. She also scored a goal and had an assist in her contests.
