The Right Stuff Volleyball Blog: Latest national rankings

We’re coming up on state-championship weekend, and I can’t wait to see how everything shakes out!

As noted in an earlier blog post, I will be at Saint Martin’s University, where the 4A and 3A tournaments are being played. Typically, I cover 4A and we have a freelance reporter take 3A. This time, though, I am opting for 3A with a solid group of local qualifiers, led by top-ranked Auburn Riverside.

But I will be keeping a close eye on 4A, and will follow the other tournaments – particularly 2A and 1A – with interest.

I will have three more blog posts this afternoon, one each on overviews of the 4A, 3A and 2A tournaments.

We’re trying to keep our posts brief this season, to hopefully to hold your attention, which is why I’m breaking those up.

I will make mention here of the latest PrepVolleyball.com national rankings, which come out today.

Emerald Ridge had moved up to No. 1 last week, but the loss to Bellarmine in the championship match of the West Central 4A District tournament dropped them to No. 62 – one spot below Bellarmine, The Lions, which were at No. 91, rise to No. 61.

Auburn Riverside inches up to spots to No. 65

On to the tournament breakdowns, so keep checking back!
