After winning state volleyball championships last Saturday, Bellarmine Prep (Class 4A) and Auburn Riverside (3A) both took significant jumps in PrepVolleyball.com’s national rankings.
Bellarmine, which was at No. 61 after knocking off Emerald Ridge (formerly No. 21) in the district championship match, shot up to No. 43. The Lions’ lone loss during the season was to ER in pool play at the Kent Classic.
Unbeaten Auburn Riverside moved from No. 65 to No. 47.
Emerald Ridge, which wound up second in the 4A state tourney, slipped slightly from No. 62 to No. 70. The Jaguars owe their only two losses of the year to Bellarmine.
