Union coach picks Bothell to win 4A football title

We are trying to reach out to a few football coaches who had their postseason runs cut a bit short to get their take on how the rest of the playoffs might shake out.

Union of Vancouver was eliminated last week by Federal Way. Here’s how Union coach Gary McGarvie responded via e-mail:

In terms of the playoffs we kind of feel like Bothell is the team to beat. They really haven’t had a close game all year (Like Camas last year) and they are very deep. Obviously we watched Chiawana play Camas earlier this year and they are very good again. So to answer your question I see Bothell playing Chiawana in the championship with Bothell winning. Of course, we were certain Camas was going to win last year and Chiawana found a way to beat them. I do think FW will beat Newport and I don’t know much about Wenatchee or GK. Having said all of this, who really knows? That’s what makes High School sports so much fun!
