Bothell football to play in bowl series in Florida
The Bothell football team will play in the first annual Burger King State Champions Bowl Series on Dec. 27 in Boca Raton, Fla.
USA Today reports that the teams, which will include four state champions from Florida, one from Utah and one from Washington, will be announced Dec. 16. It has been confirmed that Bothell will be the representative from Washington. Bothell will leave on the 25th and return on the 28th.
Cougars coach Tom Bainter told USA Today that Bothell would be interested in going if it won the state title, an opening vacated after Bellevue coach Butch Goncharoff turned down the invite. That of course, would prove to be a moot point after Bellevue lost in the championship game to Eastside Catholic.
