Rainier Beach to play for fifth place at Les Schwab Invitational

*Correction: An earlier version of this post stated Rainier Beach would play for third/fourth place.

DeJounte Murray put up 30 points and seven rebounds Monday night as Rainier Beach routed Lake Oswego (Oregon), 91-61, to advance to the fifth and sixth place game at the Les Schwab Invitational.

The Vikings (7-1) suffered their first loss of the season Sunday night when they fell to Central Catholic (Oregon), 64-62. They play Jefferson (Oregon) on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. in their final game at the Invitational, one of the premier high school basketball tournaments in the country being held in Oregon. Jefferson, a longtime Portland power and two-time defending state champions, which saw the likes of Terrence Ross, Terrence Jones and Silas Melson come through, beat Jesuit (Oregon), 61-45, to advance.

Keith Smith added 23 points and 10 rebounds against Lake Oswego and Shadeed Shabazz had 11 points and six steals. Rainier Beach scored 27 points off of turnovers and had 21 second-chance points.
