– Marysville-Pilchuck star cornerback Austin Joyner on Sunday night will announce where he will play college football. Joyner plays at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. Joyner, who was selected as the Washington Gatorade Player of the year, is picking from Washington, Washington State, Boise State, Arizona and Arkansas. He was previously committed to WSU but withdrew that commitment when defensive coordinator Mike Breske was fired in late November.
– Lakes defensive end Benning Potoa’e narrowed his choices to UCLA or Washington. Potoa’e will make his official visit to UW on Jan 16., according to Erik McKinney of ESPN. Potoa’e older brother Sione played defensive line for the Huskies from 2010-2013.
– Steilacoom hard-hitting linebacker Fotu Leiato earned himself a nice pre-Christmas present from Michigan State, which offered him a football scholarship on Dec. 24. Leiato holds offers from UW, WSU, UCLA, Oklahoma, and San Diego State. Allen Trieu of The Detroit News reports that Leiato has an official visit with WSU set for Jan. 16-18.
