USA Today is holding a competition on its High School Sports page to determine the best boys basketball program in the country. The Washington candidates are Garfield, Mercer Island, Franklin, O’Dea and Rainier Beach. Vote here.

The voting ends on Jan. 20, at which time, the state winners are grouped into regionals. The regional round then feeds into a national competition.

Here is the criteria:

  •  Facilities/Training/Uniforms

This is what a school can win:

Second Place: The Athletic Dept. of the high school will receive $500 and a banner

Third Place: The Athletic Dept. of the high school will receive $250 and a banner
