SPSL 4A hoop tiebreakers set tonight (Tuesday)

The SPSL 4A boys and girls basketball tournaments run Thursday and Saturday at various sites (Thursday at ShoWare in Kent and Bethel High School; Saturday at Bethel and Auburn Mountainview).

But there are a few ties that need to be broken first, and that’s happening tonight (Tuesday).

You can find the boys standings here. And you can find the girls standings here.

On the boys side, there is a three-way tie for fourth place in the South Division. One team will be eliminated. Mini-playoffs (two eight-minute quarters each) are set at Graham-Kapowsin to decide the fourth and fifth seeds. Bethel plays Emerald Ridge at 6 p.m. and the winner will be South No. 4. After a 20-minute break, the loser will play Spanaway Lake. The winner is the No. 5 seed and the loser is out.

For the girls, three full-game tiebreakers are set.

There is a double-header at Beamer to break a pair of South Division ties.  Emerald Ridge plays Rogers at 5:30 p.m. for the fourth and fifth seeds, while Bethel and Curtis square off at 7 p.m. to determine first and second.

At Tahoma, Kentlake and Kentridge play at 7 p.m. to break the first-place tie in the Northeast Division.

I hope to be able to post a link to the SPSL bracket when it’s available.
