At Liberty High, Athletic director Loren Krogstad and coaches gave a brief speech about their college-bound athletes. Boys soccer coach Darren Tremblay said he was proud that Michael Duvall was able to go against the odds in getting one of the four open roster spots on the Seattle Pacific University men’s soccer team.

Duvall said that in a pool of 3,000 high school seniors contacted by the Falcons coaching staff, only 150 were considered as potential recruits. Kelley Johnson (Nova Southeastern University) said she’ll miss playing soccer alongside Morgan Childs, who she considers her best friend. The two played have played soccer together for over 13 years. Childs is headed to the College of Idaho.

Dexter Simons, the first golfer to get a scholarship in school history according to coach Jon Kinisley, signed his national letter of intent with Bellevue College.
