Tahoma leads by a slim margin at the SPSL North Sub-Regional meet at Kent-Meridian High School, with 14 wrestlers in the semifinals.
The Bears have 177 points. Decatur, which leads the tournament in pins (30), is in second with 168.5 points followed by Kentwood with 137.5 points. Kentwood’s Haroldo Soto Parada, who is in the semifinals at 160 pounds, has two pins in 1:27. He will face Kentlake’s Anthony Carrillo for a chance to get into the title match.
The meet continues Saturday at Kent-Meridian with a 10 a.m. start.
