Thursday’s prep basketball results

Cascade 70, Kamiak 59
Cascade held off a Kamiak charge in the fourth quarter to win 70-59 in a loser-out game in the 4A District 1 Tournament on Thursday night. Junior Isiah Gotell of Cascade led all scorers with 29 points. The Bruins move on to face Monroe at 2:00 on Saturday at Everett Community College with the second seed to regionals on the line.

Edmonds-Woodway 77, Ferndale 53 
The sixth-ranked Edmonds-Woodway girls advanced in the 3A District 1 Tournament Thursday night with a 77-53 win over No. 8 Ferndale. Moni Jackson led Edmonds-Woodway with 23 points on 8-14 shooting, including 4-5 from beyond the arc. The Warriors play Arlington in the third place game at 2:30 on Saturday at Jackson High School.

Peninsula 46, Prairie 44
Peninsula outlasted Prairie in double overtime Thursday night. JaQuori McLaughlin stole the ball on an inbounds pass and converted two free throws with 8 seconds to go on the other end to secure the victory. Prairie shot a full-court desperation heave that rimmed in, then out. McLaughlin, a UW commit, finished with a game-high 20 points. Peninsula will face Kennedy Catholic at 4:30 pm on Saturday at Rogers High School for fifth-place in the District 3 3A tournament.
