Talking with Chiawana coach Steve Graff

I had the chance to talk to Chiawana (Pasco) coach Steve Graff earlier today. Chiawana is playing Bothell in the Class 4A state title game on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Riverhawks are the defending state champions, but had to work through adversity this year after Graff’s son, Mac, suffered a serious accident during a hunting fall.

4A title game: Eastlake coach Don Bartel offers insight

Eastlake football coach Don Bartel has interesting insight into the Class 4A title game, which will be played Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome between Bothell and Chiawana. On one hand, there’s the KingCo foe Bothell, plenty of familiarity there. On the other hand, Bartel is good friends with much of the Chiawana coaching staff.

Top-heavy 4A bracket?

Have you taken a look at the state bracket for 4A? Filling in the blanks aka assuming no upsets, we’ll have a top-half of the bracket stacked with talented teams in the quarterfinals. It would be headlined a damn good matchup of No. 1 Bothell at No. 2 Camas.
