The Right Stuff Volleyball Blog: Kent Classic should be a classic

The Kent Classic Volleyball Tournament this Saturday should be just that – a classic. The 30-team field not only includes the two teams ranked 1-2 in Class 4A, Emerald Ridge and Bellarmine Prep, but No. 4 Camas and No. 8 Skyline as well. Volleyball notes on national rankings, Kent Classic and NOFA

I’m taking some personal time off this week (thus the lack of updated Seattle Times volleyball rankings for Class 4A, 3A and 2A), but I wanted to pass a long a couple of notes.

First, is out with its latest national rankings, with Bellarmine Prep moving up from No. 42 to No. 39 and Emerald Ridge climbing from No. 100 to No. 88.

You can catch Bellarmine in action, and several other of the top teams in the state, tomorrow (Saturday) at the Kent Classic — which features matches at Kentwood and Kentlake. After the first rounds of pool play, the top teams all gather at Kentwood. Check out the complete field, with pools and schedule, here.

I also want to make you aware of the second annual “No One Fights Alone” (NOFA) cancer awareness event at Eastside Catholic Tuesday as part of the Crusaders’ Metro League volleyball match against Lakeside (which should be a good one).
