Tragic story involving Al Martin’s son

Not much you can say about this one, except that it’s unspeakably sad, so I’ll present it without further comment. Brandon Martin, the 17-year-old son of Al Martin (who played for the Mariners in 2000 and 2001), died on Monday in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was a wide receiver on Chaparral High School’s top-ranked team. No cause of death was given by police, but according to the story in today’s Arizona Republic, “there was no obvious physical trauma to Martin’s body.”

Here’s the story.
