Mariners’ minor-league report, May 19

Here’s today’s minor-league report

Steve Bray pitched a three-hit complete game for West Tennessee, though he lost 2-1 to Mississippi. Could Bray be this year’s Doug Fister? In 29.2 innings for West Tenn, he has 12 strikeouts…and three walks. Bray is 1-2, with a 3.03 ERA. In five games for Tacoma, Bray had a 5.00 ERA (with eight strikeouts and four walks in nine innings). Bray, a right-hander, is 29 (three years older than Fister) and was a 14th-round pick of the Royals in 2003. He also spent time in the Brewers organization.

Today’s pick to click: High Desert lefty Andrew Carraway, who gave up just one earned run in 7 2/3 innings while striking out nine and walking one against Inland Empire. In seven starts, Carraway has a 37-3 strikeout/walk ratio. Carraway, 23, was the M’s 12th-round pick last year out of the University of Virginia.
