Mariners minor-league report

Here is the latest report.

While the Mariners plod toward 100 losses, their farm teams have been having considerable success. Of their nine affiliates, including summer teams in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, eight have winning records, and all eight either have made the playoffs or still have a chance to do so.

Here is a team-by-team summation of where they stand, as of yesterday:

Tacoma (AAA Pacific Coast League): 71-65 (.522), 1st place in North Division, 3.5-game lead over Salt Lake

West Tennessee (AA Southern League: 67-65 (.508), 3-game lead for final playoff spot in Southern League North

High Desert (A California League): 71-62 (.534), tied for remaining playoff spot in Cal Legue South.

Clinton (A Midwest League): 73-59 (.553), lead Kane County by 1.5 games for final playoff spot

Everett (A Northwest League): 45-25 (.643), clinched playoff spot with first-half championship.

Pulaski (A Appalachian League): 37-37 (.578), clinched playoff spot.

Arizona League Mariners (Arizona rookie league): 20-36 (.357), finished fourth place in AZL West.

Venezuelan Summer League Mariners: 45-26 (.634), lost in VSL playoffs, 2-1, to Pirates.

Dominican Summer League Mariners: 43-28 (.606), lost in second round of DSL playoffs to Giants.

The combined record of all their affiliates is 472-393 (.546).
