Mariners minor-league report, May 13

Here’s today’s minor-league report.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet, because I have to go down to the Mariner clubhouse, but I’ll point out it was a good offensive day up and down the organization for some key names:

–At Tacoma, Dustin Ackley had two hits including a double, and three walks (he’s hitting .393 over his last seven games), while Matt Tuiasosopo had a homer and triple, and Alex Liddi hit his seventh homer. All that, and Franklin Gutierrez drove in four runs and made a great catch.

–At Double-A Jackson, RIch Poythress hit his fourth homer.

–At Single-A High Desert, Nick Franklin went 3-for-4 with a homer, while Vinnie Catricala hit two homers. Catricala, a third baseman, is apparently a name we’ll have to learn; his average is .360 with five homers and 26 RBI. He was a 10th-round pick in 2009.
