Mariner minor-league report for Friday: Hultzen shines

Here is today’s Mariner minor-league report.

I’m covering the game tonight and need to do a writeup for the Mariner blog, but I wanted to highlight Danny Hultzen’s strong outing for Jackson, which resulted in his first professional win. The Generals beat Mississippi 2-0, with Hultzen working 6 1/3 scoreless innings. He gave up just two hits, walked two, and struck out five.

The Big Three is living up to expectations so far. In eight combined starts, they are 4-2 with a 1.93 ERA (nine earned runs in 42 innings) with 57 strikeouts. They have allowed just 21 hits with 19 walks.

Will Alex Rodriguez pass Barry Bonds to break the career record of 762 home runs?
